Girls in Math (GiM) 2025 Contest Information
Venue
The contest will be held in Sheffield-Sterling-Strathcona Hall, at 1 Prospect St, New Haven, CT 06511. All participating teams will receive a map with further directions in the days leading to the contest.

7-9pm: Friday Night Events!
Saturday, February 22 (main contest day)
8:00 - 8:45: Check-in
9:00 - 9:15: Opening Presentation
9:30 - 10:45: Individual Round
10:45 - 11:15: Team Formation (merging individuals + smaller teams who indicate interest)
11:15 - 12:00: Team Round
12:00 - 1:15: Lunch
1:30 - 2:15: Guest Speaker
2:30 - 3:15: Student Meet + Greet
3:30 - 4:30: Guts Round
4:30 - 5:00: Awards Ceremony

Events

- Individual Round: 75 minutes, 12 problems
- Team Round: 45 minutes, 12 problems
- Tiebreaker Round: Individuals tied for top awards will solve 2-3 problems in 10 minutes, with ties broken by correctness followed by speed
- Guts Round (new!): Teams will solve problems in themed sets of 3!
In addition, GiM 2025 will include the following special events:
- Friday Night Events: Social and mathematical mini-events the night before the contest!
- Guest Speaker: Featuring Professor Katerina Sotiraki!
- Women in STEM event: Students will hear from female-identifying undergraduates majoring in STEM fields!
